Along the way, we encounter people who shape our own musical lineage. Whether it’s someone who first introduced you to life-changing music, a fellow performer you share the stage with night after night, or—if you’re lucky—one of your musical heroes, these connections leave a lasting imprint. Once that bond is formed, they become part of your musical family.

Houston Person is one of those rare, meaningful connections. He and my brother Jeff were the perfect example of brothers from different mothers, united through music in a way that made them true family.

For years, Houston and I have dreamed of recording an album together—and the time has finally arrived. In addition to creating new music, we’ll be sharing the stories behind our personal musical family tree through ArtistShare.
